Halo 3 All Nighter FTW

The task at hand was simple in theory - complete legendary from start to finish in one sitting.  Digilearner rounded us up a team of members from 360friendspot which included him, myself, Johndg, and Tommy Da Gip.  Unfortunately Tommy had other obligations and couldn’t be our fourth gunner.  Just when we thought we were going to be a 3 man show ReaperHybrid joined the party making us complete.  Reaper all ready finished the story, and I am close to the end myself - but both on lower difficulty levels.  John and Digi had only played the first chapter in the story thus far.

We figured while we were at it we might as well collect those pesky glowing skulls along the way - and for the most part we did great at it.  Unfortunately as the night went on you could see that fatigue was starting to set it, we all were discussing the next skull that had to be collected after finishing off a scarab - but after finishing him we just kept going completely forgetting the skull.

Reaper and myself finally got to the point that we needed to get some sleep - before we had to face the attack of our wives in the morning, but we said we would go at the end of the current chapter (6 for those of you keeping track).  Of course, because we had planned to leave at the end of this chapter, for the first time we actually started having difficulty surviving, it seems like we all just kept getting destroyed over and over, and we were never going to finish.  I blame the fatigue, keep in mind this was the 3rd night in a row that I was up till 3-4AM playing and the kids are always up at 8am at the latest.

Finally we finished up the chapter, but unfortunately not the fight - hopefully we can get the team together again later tonight and finish it up - legendary style.

PS. Sorry you missed it tommy!

New Review Coming Soon

I was contacted by the engineer of the Speed Freek product available from Kontrol Freek.  He asked if I would be interested in giving the Speed Freek a try and write up a little review of the product, which I glady accepted.  Unfortunately for him, i recieved it just in time for the Halo 3 release - so I haven’t gotten to give it enough time for a full review.

Last night I started gathering some times on Forza Motorsport 2 time trials based on my best times on a track over a course of 10 laps.  Giving me time to get familar with the controller again, the track, and the car’s handling.  I plan to do the same exercise with the same cars, same number of laps, with the speed freek attached - to see if it can improve even my rather poor skills in racing games.  I have a few other racing games, and perhaps even some non-racing games in mind if time permits.

I plan to have the review completed and available before the end of this weekend, depending on how busy I get with the family, and the after-hours work I am doing to cover an upcoming trip - it might be delayed a bit, but I think its doable.

Attention Bungie / Microsoft - Halo 3 Advertising Space Available

So most of the people know me, know that I am no stranger to tattoos, and on my way into work I was thinking about the week long celebration for Halo 3’s release.  Now I know that some might think there is no room for another Halo 3 advertisement with things like Halo 3 Slurpees, Game Fuel, Halo 3 Accessories, Halo 3 Console, Halo 3 Commericials, Halo 3 Zune, and much much more - but I beg to differ.

As you can see in the tattoo pictures, my left arm and a small portion of my right leg has been claimed - but I have plently of other marketable space for halo 3 advertising - please contact for location and pricing rates. :-)

Recent Xbox System Update

First off, let me get this out of the way right up front:This is not the ‘fall dashboard update.’

Today the team is releasing a minor system update via Xbox Live. Over the next few hours, when you sign in to Xbox LIVE, you’ll receive a prompt to accept this mandatory update. What’s in this update? Much like the update last month, the only thing this minor release will do is prepare your Xbox 360 for the Big Button Pad that is being released this holiday. Why do we need to release this update now? Simple: The certification team needs time to test the new controller against the retail hardware/software combination before it hits stores.

One more thing: no new features beyond this big button pad support are included in this update and, once again, this is not the ‘fall dashboard upgrade.’ When I have firm details on the next major update, I will share them.

you know I always wondered what do the non-internet  xbox 360 owners do for these kind of updates.  Say I live in the middle of the woods without broadband (in fact not long ago the area i live in now did not have broadband) - if i bought Scene It and since I dont connect to live I would not have this, or any previous updates - how would I be able to play the game?

Farewell my Friend

I finally put the time into finishing Super Paper Mario on the Wii.  I still haven’t played a ton of games on the Wii, but I have to say that I really did enjoy this one.  Then again I grew up on the NES and mario, so maybe I am somewhat biased.  Now that I have finished this and returned it to gamefly - I might have to spend some time on the game I originally bought the Wii for (The Legend of Zelda Twilight Princess) if I can pull myself away from the Xbox360 long enough :)

Play Halo 3 Now….Get Wacked by the BANHAMMER!

Fanboy is reporting that if you play halo 3 before the street date you will be banned from xbox live. Even playing the game while not connected to xbox live will get you a ban, the time a game is played is logged by your console and next connection to live will get your account banned.

Of course at theliveeye.com we have a few members that have been playing Halo 3 since 9/17, some of which are online now…..so whens this ban hammer coming?

Just looking at the Xbox.com forums you can see there are ALOT more people than we are tracking playing the game as well.

Let’s not forget early copies are sent out for review often so are they going to filter these out of the ban list - or are game reviewers going to get the banhammer for doing their jobs?
