Looking for a bit more Info on Squid?

So for those of you that come to my blog to get a little nugget of information about how the puncher of Squid’s ticks, I have a special treat for you.  Twylyght Myst was kind enough to interview me for a U360 Gamer Showcase, head on over and check it out - and let me know what you think :-)

Some Info On The ‘Fall’ Update

Just got a media blast giving a small taste of the Fall Update to come.  One of the features that will be coming December 4th with the update (yes that’s the scheduled date for the fall update - mark your calendars) you will be able to spy on your friend’s friends list - similar to the abilities of sites like myspace and facebook.  So you can see all those cool guys that are friends with MajorNelson, or those unfortunately enough to be added to my list :-)  You don’t want your precious 100 contacts exposed to the outside world?  Well you are in luck, they have also gave you the ability to block peoples ability to see your friends list.

Personally I don’t have any reason to hide my friends list - but it has caused quite a stir around the interwebz - so luckily they were smart enough to include that option….oh and one more thing - its pretty likely that MajorNelson will block his list so its doubtful  you will get to see who is cool enough to make his top 100 :-)

Update: you can all ready see these features on your zune card, and as of now major’s list is public, perhaps I was wrong

Asteroids & Asteroids Deluxe Entering XBL Arcade’s Orbit

What: Asteroids & Asteroids
When: 11/28/07 5:00 AM EST
How Much: 400 MP ($5)
Screen Shots: My Gallery
More Info: Xbox.com

 VS

Another classic from back in the ‘Good Old Days’.  The days of a black screen, and a triangle used to shoot asteroids - and the space ship if you were oh so lucky.  Many of you probably aren’t even old enough to have played the this classic in its glory - hell it was originally released when I was only a wee one year old - but somehow lasted many years later.  For those of you looking for that trip down memory lane, they provided the original game format as well as a shall i say “pimped” edition.  To keep up with todays gaming demands, they upgraded the graphics - it even has COLOR now!  All joking aside the graphics look pretty sweet.  As always another 200 Gamerscore to obtain, and at the budget price of $5.

Should you buy it?  Give the demo a spin, and decide if you like it enough to buy the full game (thats what the demo is there for) - I might pick it up just to take a walk down memory lane….well that and you all know that I am an xbox live arcade junkie.

Get ready for classic space shooting action with the release of “Asteroids” and “Asteroids Deluxe” which will be available jointly for download on Xbox LIVE Arcade for Xbox 360 this Wednesday, November 28 at 9:00 a.m. GMT (2:00 a.m. PST).

Save the earth from a deadly deluge of asteroids and re-experience the beloved arcade classics “Asteroids” and “Asteroids Deluxe” on Xbox LIVE Arcade. Players control a spaceship in an asteroid field and shoot to destroy asteroids and saucers, all while trying to avoid a costly collision. Complete with re-mastered HD visuals and the whiplash inducing high-speed “throttle monkey” mode, players will be hooked for hours! “Asteroids” and “Asteroids Deluxe” will be available worldwide as a joint download for 400 Microsoft Points and are rated E for Everyone by the ESRB.

Squids Status Report 11/19 - 11/25

Well  here you have it, another Status Report.  Who knows if any of you even care to read these things or anything on my blog to be honest, but whats a blog without posts?!  This week was less eventfull than the last, but that’s to be expected I suppose.  It was Thanksgiving here in the states - so I spent a bit of family time with the extra time off I had from work.  Maybe I should start keeping notes on my gaming, news events, etc to complete these posts - it probably would be a lot easier than relying on my memory - or searching source sites about the last week :-)

Code Weekend Reviewed

So I just realized that I haven’t posted about my trip last weekend to hang out with Steve (Fatty Chubs) and Trapper (ChangeAgent) from 360voice.com.  That’t not entirely true actually, I did mention it in my Status Report, but at the time of that post I had not uploaded photos.

Friday Evening after work I headed to my wonderful small time airport awaiting my flight to Chicago.  The flight was like most flights these days delayed, but luckily they offer free internet service in the airport.  So I was able to pass my time with Zelda: Phanton Hourglass on my DS (I still haven’t come close to finishing this game - I am such a slacker), and randomly browsing forums and chatting with friends etc.

Undertow Coming This Arcade Wednesday

What: Undertow
When: 11/21/07
How Much: 800 MP ($10)
Screen Shots: My Gallery
More Info: Xbox.com

I got to put my hands on Undertow a while back, at first it was a bit confusing but I got a better handle on it after playing for a bit.  I believe we were playing on a development build of the game and we only played a 2 player mulitplayer game, so my experience was definately limited. 16 player underwater battles definately seem interesting, can’t wait to get a hold of the demo and see what has changed. The game also got (as you can see in the banner) an editors choice award from OXM and Best of E3 from IGN.com.

Below is the official game trailer

Squids Status Report 11/12 - 11/18

So at work every friday I have to write a Status Report of what I did workwise that week - it’s not a new concept most of you probaby have to do something similar.  That combined with the facts that my gamertag starts with an S, and I can’t think of anything really catchy for these little weekly updates lets go with “Squid’s Status Report”.  The last one was off the cuff just to try and get myself used to blogging a recap type article, call it practice if you will.  From now on I will probably post these sometime durning monday, it might seem like im ripping off Deacon’s Monday Morning Scripted, but it just makes sense to post it after the weekend - which is the most likely chance of more gaming or things going on to blog about so there you have it, and here is the first ‘official’ status report.

PGR4 Tournaments coming your way

I happen to be very pleased with PGR4, but I am not very good at it.  For those of you ‘pros’ out there PGR4 is getting a tournament mode which is a free download starting Nov 15th.  It’s free so why not give it a try?  I will definately download it and participate, though don’t expect to see my name on PGRNations until they create a biggest loser category :-)

Number Five is Alive aka Status Report Numero Uno

Keeping with the robot versus non robot theme I felt the title of this post was fitting, one of my favorite movies when I was a kid was short circuit.  I will never forget towards the end of the movie because it got me in a ton of trouble at grade school.  We used to have a movie day in which we could bring in a movie from home and watch it in class - I brought Short Circuit.  Which passed whatever requirements the teachers had in place, but at towards the end of the movie Norton Crosby says “Holy Shit” and Number Five follows with “No Shit, Where see shit?”.  Which followed buy myself and most of the 1st (or 2nd i forget) grade class quoting it over, and over.

So I have been thinking some more about what I should do for the personal touch here at my little blog home for those of you that actually stop by and read my ramblings, and I am spinning around some ideas and questions - perhaps you have some input go ahead and leave it in the comments :-)
